| A good quality 'bevo' lettering ,'Deutche Wehrmacht' armband. No moth or damage, slightly grubby, but otherwise a very nice example. These used to be very common, now quite difficult to find! |
| A most unusual small box of 12 mint unissued interior jacket hangers for the Luftwaffe dagger!! Intended to be sewn directly into a uniform jacket or coat, these Luftwaffe blue fabric straps end with a leather tab and 'd' ring. This would have enabled the dagger hanger clip to go through the left hand pocket flap and then clip on internally to this strap which would have taken the full weight. These are mint and unissued and come complete in the original cardboard factory box with label on the top!! New old stock here and great for a dagger display or 'shop-front' period display. |
| 100% Original KUBAN SHEILD on Wehrmacht backing cloth I was contacted a few weeks ago via the site by a Tank Corps veteran who wanted to sell the souvenirs he bought back from the war. No daggers unfortunately, but this lovely KUBAN sheild, a triangular party drape, and two cap cockades. All will be listed here. The KUBAN sheild has seen real wear, and still has treads attached where it was sewn to a tunic sleeve. The green backing is intact and slightly freyed around the edge. The dark paper backing is 95% intact. A great opportunity to acquire a REAL example and I will provide a copy of the veterans affidavit for the items. (ag stock) |

| 1915 Commission document. Commission document dated 01/02/15 granting a temporary commission as 2nd Lieutenant to Alexander Malcolm Scott. Scott fought with the Scots Guards during WW1.
Document has been folded and is in good, clean condition. It has been previously mounted in an album ( ? ) with glue etc marks to reverse this however, does not greatly detract. |
| 1935 Munich Octoberfest Daybadge. Uncommon pinback tin daybadge issued by the DAF celebrating the 1935 Munich Octoberfest. Pleasing design featuring a brewer's dray and the DAF symbol with all of it's bronzed finish. Intact pin to reverse. |
| 1940 British Field Service Cap. 1940 dated British Field Service Cap manufactured by J.Collett Ltd., size 7 1/8. Probably unissued, very clean, no badge fitted although hole present to accomodate a badge slider. Manufacturer's marks clear. Moth free. |
| 1942 dated Cap Comforter. Beloved of early Commando units, the woollen cap comforter was considered essential issue to all troops serving in the UK. By 1942 however, the scale of issue had been reduced but was retained by many of the field force units including the Commandos.
This example is in mint, unissued condition with clear manufacturer's markings and date, 1942. No moth. |
| 1942 Dieppe Raid photographs. 20 German souvenir photos taken in the aftermath of the August 1942 attack on Dieppe. Various views of tanks, landing craft, prisoners and damage taken by German war correspondents in the hours after the raid, some are annotated in German. All photos are contemporary copies and are approx 9cms x 6cms. These views were popular souvenirs of the Dieppe garrison and this particular set was liberated by a Royal Engineer and was found amongst his ' German souvenirs '. All images are clear and in good condition. |
| 1943 SS Diary. 1943 SS Diary and Yearbook, unused. Uncommon example packed with information from the organisation and raison d'etre for the SS to colourful charts depicting the insignia of all arms of the German forces. The frontispiece is a picture of Hitler with the endpapers taken up by a similar image of Himmler. The unused diary is filled with additional dates of significance in the National Socialist calender. Excellent, clean condition. |

| 1st Pattern Fairburn-Sykes Fighting Knife . An example of the classic 1st Pattern Fairburn-Sykes Fighting Knife, as produced by Wilkinson Sword from 1941. Nickel-plate on brass and steel with ' Wilkinson Sword ' and ' F-S Fighting Knife ' etch to both sides.
This example in sleepy ' just found ' condition with staining, very small areas of rust and general wear. The major failing of the knife is the broken tip. Clear signs of sharpening. The scabbard is intact, dusty and dirty. Two small holes and a cut to the top of the scabbard appear to have been done to accomodate a button and a stitch possibly to provide more secure attachment.
This is a good, solid, honest example of a 1st pattern that has been used and would clean well but I have not had the heart as it seems sacrilegious. Priced accordingly. |
| 22nd( East African ) Brigade formation signs. Facing pair of uncut printed formation signs for 22nd ( East African ) Brigade. Forming part of 11 Div. the Brigade fought in Italian East Africa, Abyssinia, Madagascar and Ceylon and went on to fight with 14th Army in Burma.

| 24th Foot South Wales Borderers swagger cane. Victorian, silver mounted swagger stick for the 24th Foot, South Wales Borderers. Clearly dated to the interior. In excellent condition with all the coconut husk buttons intact and in unmothed condition. An excellent example.
This shirt dates from 26th Division's operations in Rangoon and in mopping up operations in the Netherlands East Indies. |
| 2nd Patt F.S. Knife. Well used, but well loved early 2nd Patt F.S. knife. The knife features a well used blade with both 'FS fighting knife' and 'Wilkinson Sword' etches present but rating 50-60% legibility. The blade shows signs of use and sharpening but no damage. The crossguard is gently swept up to meet a clean and largely dent free handle. The knife is clean, well used and has a pleasing polished appearance.
The scabbard has similar properties to the knife in being generally clean, used and in polished condition. The square-ended chape has some minor dents , all tabs are present but cut horizontally to allow attachment. Retaining elastic has been removed and replaced with a buckled strap.
All in all a pleasing, used knife. |
| 2nd Pattern (earlier type)Fairburn-Sykes Fighting Knife. WONDERFUL. This knife is in fantastic condition, and apart from some light scratching to the surface of the blade is in virtually mint condition! Brass checquered hilt has 99% of the blued finish still present. Blade has perfect needle point, Etched 'FS Fighting knife' panel on one side, 'Wilkinson sword' on the other. Blade surface has been cleaned with wire wool or similar, so has some fine surface scratches. Scabbard is beautiful, original brown colour leather, all blue finish on steel tip. Elasticated grip strap still present. A wonderful example of this iconic fighting knife. |
| 2nd Pattern Fairburn-Sykes Fighting Knife . An excellent example of the 2nd Pattern Fairburn-Sykes fighting knife. Drawn blade with needle point with the 'F-S Fighting Knife' etch to one side and the 'Wilkinson Sword Co. Ltd' to the other. Blade in clean, bright condition with some very minor marks. Grip in clean condition with the majority of it's blued finish. Scabbard is in similarly clean condition but has a slightly tatty elastic retainer and has had the tabs cleanly removed. However, this knife is in better than average condition. |
| 2nd Pattern Fairburn-Sykes Fighting Knife . A good, used example of the 2nd Pattern Commando knife. Brass handled knife, blued blade and cross guard with an arrow B2 stamping to the cross guard, arrow is indistinct. Blade retains 85%+ of it's bluing, tip with slight damage. Leather scabbard with brass chape. Elastic hilt retainer lost as are both stitch tabs with some leather loss to rear of scabbard.
A solid example of a used 2nd Patt. FS knife with some faults but priced accordingly. |
| 2nd Pattern Fairburn-Sykes Fighting Knife variant. This example of the Second Pattern has several unusual features chiefly the chunky and bulbous hilt. The grip has very deep and coarse knurling compared with the standard Second Pattern. Flook suggests that there is some evidence to link this pattern of knife with the Marines, SBS and Commandos of 30 Assault (SEE British & Commonwealth Military Knives by Ron Flook).
This example is in good overall condition with a stained and sharpened blade and is contained in a scabbard that has had the top section removed. No obvious markings. An uncommon variant. |
| 2nd PATTN FS knife Purchased from a contact in America, this is a 2nd Pattn Fairbairn-Sykes knife that's seen some action! Has been stiched to a tunic and then removed, the original belt frog strap has also been properly removed, just leaving the scabbard body. These knives were meant to be adapted for many situations, and altering the scabbard like this was very common. Thick crossguard is stamped with 'England' one side and the WD arrow with a 'P' (could be a B) . Blade seems not to have been sharpened, and retains the needle point, but there is a little rust pitting along one edge for 1cm or so. Blade has most of the black finish. Brass checquered grip has about 50% of blackened finish remaining. An interesting knife that's been issued and used. |
| 3rd Pattern F.S. Knife with sheath variant. A good used wartime 3rd Pattern F.S. knife with a lengthened sheath. This example was acquired with a number of other items associated with a member of No.5 Commando.
The knife is a standard 3rd Pattern with a number ' 2 ' cast on the top of the hilt and a ' 15 arrow ' inspection mark to the bottom. The hilt has some marks and loss of blackening. The blade is marked and retains 70%+ of it's bluing and has been sharpened.
The sheath has been cut down and then mounted onto a longer piece of leather onto which the now broken elastic retainer has been mounted. The top of the sheath extension has been cut to accomodate a belt. The chape has a dent to the reverse and the leather is sound and pliable.
An interesting theatre made variant. |
| 3rd Pattern F.S. Knife. Introduced from 1942 the 3rd Pattern F.S. knife was the zenith of FS knives formulating the design and method of production that is still used today.
This wartime example retains nearly all of it's coppered finish to the ringed grip which has a number ' 3 ' cast into the top. Some minor rubbing and bruising to the highpoints. Blade retains it's needle point and the majority of it's blued finish with clearly discernible cross-graining apart from the tip. Late pattern sheath with both tabs and elastic retainer in good order.
All together an excellent example.

| 43rd Wessex Division at War 1944-1945. 292pg history of the '43rd Wessex Division at War 1944-1945' compiled by Mjr-Gen.H.Essame 1952. | 5 Commando brass shoulder title. Good wartime 5 Commando shoulder title in brass. Cast with integral loops with the characteristic ' 5 ' typical of these titles.
The brass 5 Commando shoulder title was produced during their time in the Far East and was in wear from late 1944 and was in widespread use in 1945 during their operations against the Japanese. |
| AP or No.8 Switch booby trap device. Produced by M.D.1 or ' Winston Churchill's Toyshop ' the AP Switch was produced in spring 1940 as a booby trap device centred around the standard .303 round. Soon modified the device was designed to be buried in the ground whereupon a footfall would set it off firing the round through the foot or any other part of the target's anatomy - it was soon christened the ' debollocker' !
This scarce example is complete, including the umbrella spring that triggers the device and the spring, spindle and striker. Faintly stencilled M.D.1 A99 in yellow to the outside spike and complete with an INERT cartridge. The cartridge has been drilled to enable deactivation because of the impossibility of removing the projectile. The projectile has suffered some delamination because of water ingress and there is some minor loss of finish to small areas of the spike but all together an excellent example of an uncommon booby trap used by many organisations involved in unconventional warfare. |
| Armed Forces (Civilian Workers) armband. Always a great looking armband, this has a large closed wing Wehrmacht eagle BEVO stitched in black on a white cloth armband. Most impressive. White cotton is a little grubby, but no damage. To the reverse on the cloth is a nice Third Reich authourisation or issue rubber stamp, can't quite read what it says. Gilding faded but present with wear to high points and a very minor dent to the central shield. A lightweight stamping typical of those found on wartime picklehauben. |
| BC41 Knuckle Knife. A wonderfully sleepy example of the BC41 Knuckle knife. Reputedly issued to Commandos prior to their issue of FS knives, the design was heavily influenced by similar knives produced by some Sheffield manufacturers during WW1.
This example has never been cleaned and has staining and minor corosion all of which can be straight forwardly removed if you had a mind. Evidence of the blade having been sharpened. The sheath too is in similar dusty, uncleaned condition. Altogether an excellent, untouched, sleepy example of a famed pattern of a fighting knife. |

| Boxed WKC advertising mirror and calender. Mint but damaged. A crate of these advertising mirrors were found several years ago and have been absorbed into the collecting market since. From the prestigious WKC edged weapon manufacturer, this was a mirror with calender function, showcasing three of their products, two swords and a bayonet, and the WKC logo in blue. It is complete and works, the cardboard box and original brown wrapping paper are present. The silvering around the edges of the mirror has become damp and flaked off in several places. However, the main part of the mirror is fine, and all the day and date functions work as they should. This is a rare item, a shame about the damage, but the price reflects this!!!!!!! |

|
| British A.C.Delay Mk I. Scarce British Mk1 A.C. Delay for use with the Limpet mine. This version differs from the MkIA in having a smaller diameter body which accepts smaller acetone ampoules. This version was replaced by the MkIA but operated in exactly the same fashion.Acetone ampoules containing differing strengths of acetone were inserted into the A.C. Delay and crushed, eating through a celluloid washer which retained a striker. The differing rates of dissolving the celluloid washer dictated the length of delay, an orange ampoule for instance, giving a 7.5hr delay. Release of the striker intiated the Limpet.
This version is in good condition, retaining approx 50% of it's original grey paint and some of it's overprinted markings. Retains spring and striker.
|
| British Bayonet No.7 Mk1 (Land). This bayonet was an attempt to develop a knife bayonet for the No.4 Rifle. Marrying a blade from the Bayonet No.5 with a swivelling socket resulted in the Bayonet No.7, but only the Guards and a few other selected units ever received it.

| Collar Stud Escape Compass. One of the more igenious concealed compasses from Clayton Hutton's team at MI9. This pattern was designed to resemble the collar studs that were generally available from Woolworths and other retailers. Originally the compass face would have been concealed by a coating of white paint which would have been scratched off to allow it's use as a compass.
This example in good working order with very slight traces of whitener around the rim and some minor scratches to compass face. A scarce example of this pattern of escape aid. |

Similar in appearance and construction to a Miner's protective helmet of the period, made from a lightweight black composition material with a leather and cloth liner and a rubber pad to the front. | FABULOUS THIRD REICH POLICE NCO'S VISOR. Nr MINT A really good find! A virtually mint visor cap being Feldgendarmerie, for the 'town' Police, green piping. There is one slight piece of damage to the rear of the cap, looks as though a small piece has been sliced out of the crown. I think this cap was packed away and caught in a hinge of a trunk or similar, as this is not a moth or a rodent 'nip'!! Other than this the cap is virtually mint. | WW1 29th Div Mk I Steel helmet. Steel helmet Mk I or 'Brodie'. This particular example is marked to the front with the reversed light infantry bugle of the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry and to the side with the 'half a diamond' of the 29th Division. Additionally there is a service number impressed into the intact chinstrap making this emminently researchable.
The helmet has approx. 25% of the original textured green paint finish with both the unit markings clearly visible. Corrosion has been cleaned from the shell and is maker marked to the rim. The liner is present, but tatty and as previously mentioned the chinstrap is present and flexible. Altogether an interesting and uncommon example of a unit marked helmet to a small unit. |
| WW1 34th Div MkI Steel Helmet. Steel helmet Mk I or 'Brodie'. This particular example is marked to the front with the chequerboard device of the 34th Division, a device that was adopted after the Division's arrival in France in early 1916.
This example is interesting for showing clear signs of having been refurbished by the AOC Salvage Supply Depot indicating that it was probably retrieved from the battlefield. The liner is a standard 'War Office Pattern Brodie's Patent' type that has a rip machine repaired and the crown cushion replaced and secured with a nut, bolt and washer. The chinstrap is a two piece replacement. The current paint finish shows clear signs of having been overpainted over a previous finish with the 34 Div sign to the front and possible signs of a similar device to the reverse that has been removed.
The helmet is in good condition with approx 75% original paint finish remaining (34 Div. device 98% present) with a clean liner. The chinstrap is pliable but potentially fragile near chinstrap loop in one place. However, this is an excellent divisionally marked example with a history. |
