Victorian Cavalry Officer's Pillbox Cap.

An as yet unidentified Victorian cavalry officer's pillbox cap, probably Lancers. Red melton cloth body with a wide band of gold Regimental pattern lace and quartered to the crown gold bullion cord. To the center a bullion cord button. The interior with leather sweatband and crimson cotton, quilted lining with gold blocked maker's details of Hawkes & Co. of Piccadilly. Complete with black leather chinstrap. Slightly dusty condition with some minor areas of moth grazing and patination to lace. Some minor damage of bullion button.
