Embroidered example of the badge worn by the 77th Indian Brigade and later the 3rd Indian Division - The Chindits. Formed by Orde Wingate in 1942 and fought extensively throughout Burma, often behind Japanese lines.
The name Chindits is a corruption of the word ' Chinthe ' which is the lion-headed pagoda guardian seen throughout Burma and represented by the patch.

1940 Patt Battledress Blouse, 1943 dated, to a Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery serving with the British troops in Norway probably attached to 1st Airborne Division. With many of the Division drawn from 21st Army Group , from where the owner of this tunic probably originated, the Division went into Norway on 9th May 1945.

A chromed struck, crowned wreath containing the enamelled letters ' CAG '. Intended for wear in the CAG FS style cap, the badge was introduced shortly after the formation of the CAG in 1938. The CAG was formed to expand pilot training in response to building up the RAF reserve.
