Painted tin for Safety Fuze. Safety fuze was widely used by Special Forces, engineers and saboteurs for setting off explosive charges and burnt at a rate of 20 secs per yard. Tin with original label with a printed 1943 date, good condition with some wear to paint finish. read more

Their Silvertown factory exploded in Silvertown in West Ham, Essex on Friday, 19 January 1917 at 6.52 pm.
