Wehrpass to a Oberschutzen.Walter Arendt who was killed in Russia on 22/08/1941, two months into the Barbarossa campaign. Arendt, from Danzig served with Infantry Regts.193 and 453 and saw service in France before Russia. He was killed, aged 31 in fighting for Velikiye Luki on 22/08/1941. Wehrpass is accompanied by a letter to his wife informing her of his death. Good, clean condition.  read more

Various indicators, the distinctive V-shaped indentation to the reverse, sheet metal hinge, pin and catch strongly suggest manufacture by Foerster & Barth, Vienna. Slightly grubby condition and purchased as part of a larger grouping of souvenirs from a veteran's family.  read more
