WW1 Victory Medal to 2.LIEUT.F.MAKINSON 3rd Btn Liverpool Regt. KIA 14/04/1918 and is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Panel 3. 2/Lt. Frederick Makinson was attached to the 4th Btn. at the time of his death and had previously served as 10754 Cpl.F.Makinson, unusually returning to his previous regiment on receiving a commission. The Narvik Shield, designed by Professor Klein of Munich, was instituted on the 19th of August 1940.
