WW2 British slip on formation sign for the 70th Infantry division. Multi-piece construction in khaki drill with ink stamp to reverse inner. 70th Inf. Div were heavily involved in the fighting in North Africa around Tobruk. Withdrawn to India in 1942 the division became part of the Chindits force and officially ceased to exist in November 1943.
